Fan Filter Unit (FFU) is a combination of a fan and a filter, also referred to as a "filter with its own fan." FFUs are typically installed at the supply air terminal of cleanrooms and are usually placed on suspended "dry" gasket-sealed grid frames. The upper section of the FFU contains the fan module, while the lower section houses the filter.
Depending on the required level of cleanliness, the filter can be of different grades, such as High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) or Ultra-Low Penetration Air (ULPA) filters. These filters provide clean air to the cleanroom, ensuring that the environment meets the specified cleanliness standards.
